about…

For those of you that have braved a visit to my site and want to know more…

Hi, my name is Heather, I’m a stay at home mom to 7 kidlets, and I lead a busy but pretty quiet life (well, not always quiet). Any spare time I can scrounge up is spent sewing, I’m obssessed with it. And yeah, I know that I can buy a lot of the things I make, sometimes for less than I might spend to make it, but for me it all comes down to just wanting to make it myself….

Along with sewing, I also love to read, crochet, paint, cook, bake, embroider, draw, and do pretty much anything crafty or with my hands….and just so I don’t give any false illusions here, I lay no claims to greatness or perfection in any of these endeavors, just that I really enjoy doing them. I’m not in any immediate danger of getting my own cooking or crafting show on tv and I have no delusions of grandeur or cravings for fame and notoriety. I promise this is all for my own enjoyment and (hopefully) my family’s benefit….

Hmmm, let’s see, things I don’t do….I don’t really care for flower arranging, I don’t scrapbook or paper craft, and I gave up on cake decorating after my wrists nearly exploded in painful protest during a particularly frosting intensive birthday cake for my then 5 year old daughter. Ah, carpal tunnel, my mortal enemy (I finally went ahead in Nov. 09′ and had the surgery on my right hand, and I was back to crocheting and sewing in one week. Hardly any down time. Yay!).

Also I’m a terrible but determined knitter who will one day finish knitting something and NOT hate it in the end, but until then, perling sucks, and I’m afraid of double pointed needls. I mean, how do I really use them and not screw the whole thing up? Well, so far, I haven’t…  So anyways, that about sums it up. Any questions? Fire away, I’ll do my best.
